“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.”

Context Images is the website for Eugene, Oregon photographer and energy ecologist Jim Maloney.

Whats on the site?
:: My photographs largely focus on images from the natural world with an emphasis on natural history subjects like wildlife, plants, lichens, habitats, and ecosystems.

:: I also try to capture people working to conserve and restore native landscapes as well as enjoying, exploring, and learning about the world we live in. Another dimension to my work includes documentation of the impacts of ill-conceived and poorly considered manmade changes to the natural world – the unnatural landscape.

:: And because some photographs often have a mind of their own once released upon the world from the dungeon of the hard drive, a good bit of traditional landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes have found their way onto the site as well.

Charlotte told me about this site today while walking around Dexter. I think I've browsed everything; your pics kept my attention. I especially enjoyed the mushrooms - the aminita was amazing. Lichens too were very cool. Congrats on having some of your photos selected! I hope to join you all on some future nature walks! (Bird or otherwise).

Nice work. I especially like the sandhill cranes taking off.
